Description

Messier 41 (or NGC 2287) is an open cluster located about 2300 light-years away in Canis Major and is sometimes referred to as The Little Beehive Cluster.
With a diameter of 25 light-years, the cluster covers an area about the size of the full Moon, and it is estimated to be 190 million years old.
ts properties and dynamics suggest a total life expectancy of 500 million years  before it will have disintegrated.

Definitely one of my favourites one, at this long focal lenght which suits it very nicely!

Data from Telescope Live taken with CHI-1 telescope at El Sauce Observatory, Chile.
